I'm happy to see them land in a legit conference. Think that could be part of why Cronin returned? Not that UNLV is in a power conference, but there's a lot to like about Vegas

RE: UC to B12
if not for the health issues, if I were Cronin, I'd opt for the change, even with the B12 move. But he probably likes Cinci more than I do. And I get antsy now after living somewhere for a few years. I may have a problem. Coincidentally, found out today we may be moving to San Antonio later this year. 60/40 right now.

I could see the ACC eventually inviting UConn to get to an even 16 teams. It's an untapped market that makes sense geographically with Syracuse and Boston College up there. They bring the basketball pedigree that the ACC thrives on, but that football program ... woof.

I just looked at the teams left in the AAC. I really do feel bad for UConn. They'd be better off dropping their football program and begging for a spot in the Big East.

I say bring UConn to the ACC despite their football program. That would make for some great match ups in basketball for the men and the women.

Financially, sure.

On the field? I don't know. The travel arrangements have basically relegated WVU to also-ran status in football. They haven't won more than 7 regular season games since the move, this coming right off the Big East title and Orange Bowl appearance in 2011 (the one where they DESTROYED Clemson).

They've been solid a couple of times on the hoops side, specifically the last two seasons, but really struggled through the transition (30-35 in their first two Big XII seasons). I wonder whether they can/will maintain success when Huggy Bear retires/blows out a major artery. For one, what is their recruiting bed? A lot of the current roster is from the northeast and KY/OH, so it seems like Huggins isn't gaining traction in the Big XII markets. I'd go as far as arguing WVU is benefiting from his old UC trails. Can another coach pull a kid from Ohio, bring him to West Virginia, and then fly all over the plains states? I'm guessing no.

Aac is just the "football schools" CUSA. New name, same schools. Lipstick on a pig.

I have to believe that the B12 expands or gets absorbed piecemeal over the next 5-10 years. UC will be better off for being in it. I can picture UC and WVU being in the ACC.

I hope WVU stays out. As far as I'm concerned they can throw batteries at opposing fans in other conferences. As far as UC goes, I'd welcome them to the ACC. I don't know how they are academically, but it's probably the only way I get to see uofl play them in the basketball again.

Stronger than us in academics but not substantial. I feel the same about WVU except*** they are a great geographic fit and we have had some great games vs them, both bb and fb.

Except they are ranked #30 academically. Gives them cover for being poor athletically.

Wait. What? 14+1 isn't enough already? This shit is trending in the wrong direction

Heres a novel idea....how about the BIG 12 .....go to 12 TEAMS.... and call it good.

*Yes I know everyone has a woody for four 16 team super conferences. Im not one of them.

RE: UC to B12
I'm OK with home and home against a division and flip flop the games against the other division. What I hate is what the ACC does and the BE did having random games every year.
