It looks like Pitino was a little proactive about the future of Frankie Hughes. He probably prevented another transfer.

RE: THE BIG DANCE
Do you think this has to do with Pitino being a little more hands-off with the recruiting grind compared to other coaches at elite schools who have less transfer drama? Seems like a prevalent issue at all levels really--and not necessarily a negative one for the players freedom to leave a shitty situation standpoint--but I guess it happens less at most other blue bloods?

Rick was very hands off when he first got here but I don't find him that way any more. Pretty active and he seems to really want the L1C4 kids.

I know he's copped to that, just wonder if he's still less involved in the daily grind (texting, selling the uncles and grandmas, etc.) than the Caliparis, Selfs, and Coach Ks.

I think UL was a notch below what I saw last night. Kansas - Nova was a toe to toe battle. OK is damn good.

Agree; good to see Nova finally play to its potential on the big stage.

RE: THE BIG DANCE
Maybe it's just me but I didn't think that Kansas-Nova game was that good. Think we got below average performances on both sides. The defense was good but no one could knock down wide open shots, multiple missed layups. Nova's defense on Perry Ellis was fantastic but some sloppiness could have been due to nerves with stakes that high.

And this is why you don't hire Tony Bennett. Seriously, we're approaching mental scar tissue level here.

Boeheims stock just went way up in my book. That defense in the 2nd half was as good as any I've seen in the tournament

I don't really know why I was pulling for Cuse in that game, but I was, big time ... subconsciously. What's wrong with me?

It's the Gbinije association, J. I was simultaneously proud papa and pissed off fantasy owner watching 1/3 of my starting lineup get to Houston.

Guys you have to admit that even with the scandals etc. we have been blessed to be involved in some stellar D1 basketball since 2003.

That Syracuse comeback was the biggest WTF I've seen in college basketball in awhile. No way in hell did I think pressing Virginia would cause them to collapse.
