And down go the slap dicks. % chance cal complains about his bracket matchup? % change he whines? % chance that this series doesn't start back up because of this loss? Hehe

Good to know I won't have to hear about a deep UK run. But this also means IU's lead in all-time wins is growing.

Oh yeah, being a 3 instead of a 4 would have made all the difference.

Now hoping IU goes out next. I dislike Crean almost as much as Calipari.

Barkley: Least talented team Cal has had. Not very good. U.K. Fans are going to overreact like they always do. 2 bad statements. 1 perfect one.

Chuck has been mostly drunk on set, but is he totally wrong with that statement? Even the NIT team had Noel, Poythresz, and Wiltjer.

Maybe not totally wrong, but I took any credit away when he made a statement that cal is used to having McDonald's all american's on his team. (Implying that this team did not have any). That was just a complete ignorant statement.

Noel was out the last part of that NIT season. They were pretty bad and they were broken.

Ulis and Murray are both better than anyone on that 2013 team, including Noel.

What sucks is based on the ACC performance, with any decent draw there is a good possibility that are playing in the second weekend and likely favorites with a chance at a final four.

Reminds me of watching NBC's Kentucky Derby coverage with degen horseplayers ("Why are they interviewing celebrities?" "Did they just cut to commercial before releasing the official results? WTF?".

I see the Charles Barkley, et al. shenanigans of CBS' March Madness coverage as purely entertainment. That stuff isn't for you, the hardcore college hoops fan, it's for the civilians tuning in (and maybe some Inside The NBA on TNT crossover).

Not saying it's not annoying--b/c it is--but they know we're gonna watch these games no matter who they hire to do the studio stuff.

According to 538, Northern Iowa had a 99.99% chance of winning up 12 with around 35 seconds left. Still cant believe they lost

Sounds about right. In 20 years of watching basketball, I've never heard of a team coming back from 12 down in 30 seconds

This is the only thing that close to that kind of comeback. They were only down 3 but a similar type end of game blunder especially for a pro team

RE: THE BIG DANCE
TCU is his alma mater. I can see the appeal to leave. Pitt has sort of hit a point of mediocrity since 08-09. Last five years:
2011-2012: 22-17 CBI champs
2012-2013: 24-9 Round of 64 8 seed
2013-2014 26-10 Round of 64 9 seed
2014-2015: 19-15 NIT 1st round loss
2015-2016: 21-12 NCAA first round 10 seed

Dixon is a good coach but he seems stuck in the middle of mediocrity, and that probably will continue in the ACC. Support is starting to thin out a bit. Most years it will be a major struggle for Pitt to finish above 8th or 9th in the ACC. I think it's a good move for Dixon at this point. Sometimes you need a new start somewhere else.

The Alma mater makes it an easier decision as well I suppose. I just don't know how well you can do at tcu.

Surely better than 7 total NCAA tourney appearances. The last one being 1998.

Yeah, I'd say the bar is pretty low.

If he can't win at Pitt with its at least middling prestige, what the Hades can he do at TCU against Kansas, the Texas Shakas, Oklahoma, Baylor, and Iowa State? The ACC is obviously the better league, but Pitt is also about 3 levels above TCU as a basketball program. Quick, name one successful coach or notable basketball alum from TCU.

Maybe he's just at that point where he's gonna give it his best shot and if it doesn't work out then oh well? He certainly does\will have loads of money regardless.

I mean really 7 total NCAA appearances. The last being 18 years ago. He could do far less than turning TCU into a perennial power and still be considered a success there.
