Artis still sitting on 4 rebounds, but he's added 2 DEFENSE. Only needs 2 more in the remaning 7:48 left for the Dragons to win via tiebreaker.

Yeah, he did have one bad game (5-9 FTs), and a couple so-so games (4-6; 0-2) and a handful of 0-1s; he's about as solid as it gets from a 6-7 college Forward.

Jamie Dickface Dixon has sat Mike Young just about the entire 2nd half. You deserve to miss the tournament you little taint

They say you need luck to win titles. I fully agree, I got some of the luckiest breaks possible.

I've never seen anything like it. About 10 different things had to go wrong at the same time for me to lose after the first half... And they all went wrong. Luckily you're a classy winner, so good luck in the next round

RE: Round 2 Results
It's down to Crawford vs Thomas to see who goes on.

I have it that I am up 15 pts, up 21 reb, down 10 assists, tied defense, down 4% FTs (where the heck is that coming from lol)

I need defense and or Thomas to miss a bunch of FTs

Thanks, feel like the luck Buzz's team got last year rubbed off on me.

Artis finishes with 3-5 FTs and only 2 DEFENSE. Shout-out to the Pitt scorekeeper for correctly attributing Artis' strip of Greyson Allen to Artis even though James Robinson gathered the loose ball: http://scores.espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14865309

If my math was/is correct, hothot wins 3-2 with Rebounds, Defense and FT%. Results in four of the five categories would be pretty close to a hypothetical Rye-Pom matchup projection, but it was the hothot's outlier 83% FT shooting (+10% above their avg. 73%) that made the biggest difference this week.

Matchup MVP has to be Brian Gregory for only playing Charles Mitchell 39 minutes this week, minimizing his potential FT attempts. That's a fantasy manager's "No, no, YES!" coaching performance, sir. Pretty wild my team wins b/c of FT% in a week where my best FT shooter accounts for half our misses & pulls our team average down 5%.

Funny that both match-ups were won by your team roaring back from a big defensive hole. No shows by the Empire and Ballers will haunt them during the offseason.

Ahh bummer. Shitty C spot kills me again. End to a rough season once again. Hoping for better luck next year. Good matchup Hot Hot. The sharing of Lee and Brogdon made for an interesting battle. Good luck next week

Correct. Ties are broken by higher seed. I'd like to propose bench stats be counted next year.

I am proud to say that I was cheering for Devin Thomas to miss his FTs. Hokies win! By the way, why was DT sitting so much in the first half? In the second half it was foul trouble.

RE: Round 2 Results
SO is it official that I lost on a tie? Whatever happened to OT? I understand the higher seed rule but it seems counter to everything a tourney should be. What if the Cardiac Pack didn't get a chance for OT in their 1983 run? Empire - please call the Wake Forest SID and get an extra block for Devin Thomas or one less steal for Crawford. That would give me a 3-2 win I think.

Nevertheless congrats to the Pirates. Good luck in the final with Brice and Abu leading the way (I just wish they were leading the way for the Guardians instead). Great season.

Maybe I did the math wrong but adding onto yesterday's scores I had Ingram 4 of 4, Robinson 4 of 4, Thomas 3 of 5. Bryant Crawford 3 for 4 from the stripe. Had the Guardians at 35-43 on Free throws with Pirates 44-54

My source for official box scores is taking longer than usual. I'll update the final scores as soon as they update their website. It looks like everyone has their lineups in, so it's just a formality at this point.

RE: Round 2 Results
The Final Four is in the books! Congrats to the Tarheels and Pirates for moving on, which guarantees we will see a new champion for the 2nd year in a row. The Guardians and Pirates came down to the very last second, with a tie in defense and a free throw margin of 0.0009 (holy shit). The Kitty Cats bested their season high defense total by 3 to deal a heartbreaking loss to the FreeBallers after establishing a commanding lead. The FreeBallers could have pulled off the upset in points, but Jamie Dixon played Mike Young only 17 minutes against Duke, sealing the FreeBallers' failure.

The NIT Championship will feature a couple league vets, with team HotHot and the disinterested Shooters squaring off for the first inaugural NIT banner. There has to be some level of satisfaction knowing you're still playing while 12 other teams have already taken their ball and gone home. These 2 games were another great matchup, with Team HotHot getting by thanks to a couple last second free throw misses from Jamel Artis. 1 rebound and 1 assist was the difference between the Shooters advancing, and the Abandoned Bitches ghost riding their way to the finals.

So how do you win MVP when you are playing against yourself? The Guardians Brice Johnson played the Pirates Brice Johnson toe to toe (and stat for stat) without backing down. I guess to the victor go the spoils. I will be cheering for the Pirates in the finals. Good luck!

I don't think we're going to have the problem of 2 divisions next year. If we have 12 teams next year, it will be perfect.

12 teams would be really ideal. I think 14 could probably still work too which is the number we're currently at.
