Pittsburgh vs #9 Gonzaga(-4.5) Armed Forces Classic, Japan
Stephen F Austin @ #22 Baylor

RE: Non-Louisville College Hoops
Someone needs to explain to me why half these teams are playing nowhere near either of their campuses. Get the Armed Forces Classic assuming that's the game we played last year and the one that has been played on battleships in the past. But China? South Dakota (what in the actual fuck)?

As for South Dakota: money for both schools, neutral site means no home & home agreement necessary, no home court advantage, small gym with modern amenities should make for a fun sellout type atmosphere, free advertising for venue city.

China: more negatives with long travel/stay during middle of the fall semester & national signing day/week, but cool experience, prime time tv money I'm sure, and Washinton (west coast pac-12 schools in general) prob has thousands of students from China so they're recruiting in that sense. Heard this week from local folks that Shaka wasn't a big fan of the trip, which was scheduled before the AD was fired and I think prior to shaka?

Yeah if I was a player at either school, I would be very unhappy with this trip.

Yeah we did a trip to Korea for soccer but it was during the summer. It's a cool experience but yeah, plenty of stuff to point at as unnecessary like so many other things in "amateur" athletics.

They just called Pitt-Gonzaga at the half. Too unsafe to continue. Really slippery. I've never seen this before.

Ben Simmons is an absolute stud. Not a huge scorer but he's probably gonna post a triple double in his debut

North Florida will look really good on the ol' resume come tournament time if Louisville can beat them.

Was there a worse opening loss than NC State getting destroyed by Bill & Mary?

I haven't visited their forum, but I'm guessing it's complete meltdown mode

I would think Wisconsin getting dropped by Western Illinois is certainly in the running. WIU were picked to finish DFL in The Summit. At least William & Mary was predicted to be in the top half of the Colonial.

PackPride is an absolute gem. They care more about the UNC scandal than their own teams. On a funnier note, NC State extended Gottfried just hours before that beat down.

This smells of a standard Gottfried Alabama team. Good recruits... Mediocre results...

I know only start of the season, but meh

This State team is going to do what State typically does. They are going to lose a bunch of games to teams they shouldn't lose to, upset a few of the better teams in the conference, and cut it painfully close to not making the tournament. Cat Barber needs to play a hell of a lot better or it's going to be a long year for them.

Wake came back and survived. Kudos to them for going on the road to a non-power 5 campus in non-conf play. Don't see that very often.

Louisville travels to Dan Majerle-coached Grand Canyon (Phx) next season for a non-conf road game, fwiw. Date and time should be released by March '16. GCU won't be tournament-eligible until 2017-18, which can't be good for recruiting.

The SWAC strikes again. The worst college hoops conference ever now has wins over the ACC and SEC.

Marquette in a battle with IUPUI on Fox Sports 1, if you have it. Marquette could feasibly start out 0-5.

yeah, I would've called it the dunk of the week if they weren't playing some random D-II team picked to finish 10th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

I watched all of the UVA game last night. GW got whatever they wanted in the post. Great interior passing and Tobey/Gill/Salt couldn't stay in front of their man. No rim protection on the perimeter drives either. They REALLY miss Darion Atkins.

I totally forgot Boeheim isn't coaching the Cuse right now. It maybe actually shows. Cuse is just AWFUL on the fundamentals tonight... terrible job of guys staying in their area of the zone, getting crushed on the glass. If not for Gbinije and some timely three point shooting, they would be losing.
