First glimpse of a team post Terry, Trez, and Blackshear. Scary thought, but I'll be watching intently

That seems just ridiculous to me. I wonder how many athletes could do both of those. Dwight Howard comes to mind

I was thinking the same. He also has 9'6" broad jump. Didn't realize he was such a tremendous athlete.

RE: Tidbits
From the presser...

A few comments to point out:
No 'perfect' scenario but he said he "got what he wanted" for a change in the draw. Says he wanted to go West and like everybody not be in UK's bracket.
Says UC Irvine will be a test because of size and way they shoot the ball.
Shaqquan Aaron has been hurt - he didn't practice Saturday, Sunday or Monday - but returned today and is likely not going to play this weekend.
Talked about toying with the idea of playing Trez at the 5 and Jaylen at the 4 more than anything because "Jaylen is playing so well" in practice. Says he's most improved freshman, along with Matz but also noted "they had to come the farthest" of any of the guys.
Team will stay focused on UC-Irvine but says staff was scouting UNI and Wyoming also this week.
Not sure why but this team is better when they get away from home and distractions with family and friends here in Louisville says "can't explain it."
Notes the "whole team is playing well. We were good enough to beat Carolina."
Was asked to be part of the 30-for-30 on Laettner but declined because "I don't hate Christian Laettner."
Said "I had to cut out the trash talking and the belittling of players" on this team during the season. He says the chemistry has improved this year and is "great" now.
Anas Mahmoud always smiles and says "he doesn't know what we are going through."
Pitino said he texted Kevin Ware's mother during the Georgia State game the other day and asked her to tell him "just how proud of him I am."
Noted all the connections he has in the tournament and excited for them all.
Says "this is the best time of the year." But noted this year likely a lot of upsets.

2014-15 losses:
PF Agau
PG Jones
G/F Blackshear
PF Harrell
G Rozier

2015-16 recruiting class:
F Deng Adel
G Ryan McMahon
G Donovan Mitchell
F Raymond Spalding

2015-16 Roster:
1 SF Deng Adel
2 G Ryan McMahon
3 G Donovan Mitchell
4 PF Raymond Spalding
5 PG Quentin Snider
6 F/C Chinanu Onuaku
7 C Matz Stockman
8 F Anas Mahmoud
9 C Mangok Mathiang
10 F Jaylen Johnson
11 G/F Shaqquan Aaron
12 G Anton Gill
13 [open]

Am I missing anyone?

So, if we lose Gill & Shaqquan, how many grad transfers are we getting next year? Haha. Not a recruiting guy, so what other guys are we looking at for 2015? If both Gill & Shaqquan leave, they probably save at least one extra spot for 2016, right?

This isn't the L1C4 I remember bringing us a title. Feels more like the T-Will/McGee class where they were the only 2 of like 15 to make it their entire career as Cards.

RE: Tidbits
Gill was not from the same source as Shaq. Take that with a grain of salt. Shaq leaving is not PT related. Like I said, it's from an extremely reliable source. Better than Jody. He didn't say done deal or anything but he said it was likely and he doesn't speak out of his ass. I hope he's wrong/shaq and/or rick change their mind but I'm just passing it on. There's many a slip betwixt a cup and a lip.

RE: Tidbits
"This is a very important summer for the entire roster, whomever that may end up being. All of the freshmen need major strength, as well as conditioning and individual instruction. Aaron has very seldom showed in practice or individuals why he should have earned major minutes. That said, hopefully he realizes the things he needs to do to become a major contributor. So far, imo, he simply has not done that."

Another one of my top 4 hoops sources.

Practice outside today. Petrino says he wants them to work in the weather. Said very pleased with Ferguson's arm strength and decision making. He said he was very pleased with the WRs. Quick moved to slot. Petrino said they need to get him the ball and let him make the play.

RE: Tidbits
From a couple of guys that I respect that were at practice yesterday: Bolin and Ferguson "tied".

Bolin: accuracy
Ferguson: arm

Tied on decision making.

Both were impressed for 1st day and said practice was extremely intense, as if preparing for a game. First up - Auburn.

Can we PLEASE stop wasting Reggie with this silly QB contest and move him to WR already? He HAS to know he's never gonna play with Ferguson, Bolin, Gardner, and Jackson all in front of him.

Reggie provides a nice wrinkle to our offense. I'd love to have him as a situational quarterback against certain matchups, but if he's earning the majority of the minutes in Petrino's offense then we're likely in trouble.
