When a 3 star freshman wants to go somewhere he can start as a freshman, does he know what that means? If a coach is willing to hand over the keys to a modest talent freshman looking for easy minutes, he's a bum. Hughes must be perfectly cool with missing the tournament for his entire career.

I doubt Scott D would even come close to promising a starting spot.

Yep. If you are a three star and you want to start as a freshman, you should look at Division III. Nothing wrong with that approach if you value education and playing time. But if you are looking for a path to the NBA, it may not be your best option.

Pitino says he may fill the open scholarship with a transfer. Not a 5th year senior but one that needs to sit out a year.

** Posted this in the RUSSDICULOUS thread by accident... relocating to its proper home. **

Per one of the other sites, rumor has it Derryck Thornton may be transferring from Duke. Not seeing any confirmation on Twitter or the Duke boards, but that wouldn't be a complete surprise given his time this year and the studs coming in next season. Dude has already been passed over from what I can see.

In more definitive news, Justin Simon is leaving Arizona. HS teammate of Mitchell, we recruited him late in the process.

If it is true about the kid from Duke transfering, I doubt that Coach K will allow him to transfer to another ACC program.

With that being said, we need to be on him like white on rice

RE: Tidbits
Would be a pretty shitty thing for K to shove him out the door when he doesn't desperately need him anymore, then block his list of potential landing spots.

That said, Thornton would likely go back home to the west coast if he does decide to transfer. I think Arizona was pretty heavy on him at the end.

Thornton doesn't have much substance to his game. He'll be a good college player, but only about 1 in every 50 fancy dribbles from him actually break down the defense.

More man tears

http://www.theacc.com/news/for-all-its-n...03-28-2016

Quote:Another fact that makes the ACC’s dominant March even more incredible is this: the conference didn’t even send its fourth-best team (according to regular season standings) to the tournament. Louisville’s self-imposed postseason ban, which has been well documented in recent weeks, kept a Cardinal team that posted a 23-8 regular season record out of the Big Dance. The team finished just two games out of first place in a loaded ACC and seemed to have the formula for a deep tournament run; Damion Lee was nearly unguardable at times this season and U of L’s frontcourt, led by Chinanu Onuaku, was formidable. For purely speculative purposes, let’s say the Cardinals received a three or a four seed in the South Region, which is actually being hosted in Louisville. There’s no reason to think the Cardinals would not have had a chance to knock off the likes of Kansas or Villanova. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see them go dancing.

Surprise. I guess it's easier to star without Beasley stealing minutes/shots. Hamilton had two more high ranked players coming in next season, though.

So Trez shoved a ref to the ground tonight. Not a good idea especially when trying to "prove" yourself in the D League. Also, whats up with that hair?

Surprised it took this long to see his temper get the best of him; unlucky time & place with the ref, yikes. Haven't looked at Twitter tonight. I hope our fans aren't treating him with kid gloves like UK does with Cousins. "He's just a lovable big kid out there."

I did not look at the video but, damn, that is the second dumbest thing you can do. The only things worse, IMO, and just by a smidge, is doing the same thing to your coach. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

To be fair, Trezl was provoked by the opponent, but you still gotta control that stuff man. I mean hes not good enough to do shit like this.

Maybe we need rules before we go to CE.net.

It is all so confusing, I mean if I want to really go all the way UL and post in red then someone will think I'm being sarcastic and get pissed. Then after they slam me I will post a meme and they will get really mad and leave. Damn this internet stuff is so hard.

Lamar is looking a little more buff. It looks like he's flicking a 15 yd pass. 40 yds easy.

Interesting QB walk on. 6'7" Sean McCormack from a small IL school. Didn't start until a SR and put up 3700 yds with 30 TDs. Not sure why his offer list wasn't stronger but a damn good pickup.

Reading good things about today's scrimmage. First series Lamar had a 60yd completion, right on the money. OL getting compliments from BP. Apparent offense was more prepared to play.

6'6 Canyon (Rick's son) Barry from C of Chas transferring. UL on list. avg.19/gm until Jan shoulder injury. Immediate eligibility as he has graduated.

Looks a bit west coast to me.

Want to win a national championship?? The key is apparently to play a game in the KFC Yum! Center

The KFC Yum! Center has hosted the eventual National Champion in every year of its existence. Quite the streak

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/spo.../82640846/

Quote:The Yum! Center went into Monday guaranteed to extend the streak. U of L topped North Carolina during the regular season, while Villanova won the NCAA tournament's South Regional before advancing to the Final Four in Houston.

Champions at the Yum! Center

2011: It was a 71-58 U of L win over UConn on Feb. 18.

2012: UK played WKU and Iowa State to open NCAA play.

2013: The Cards went 15-1 on their home court.

2014: U of L beat UConn 81-48 on March 8.

2015: Duke topped U of L 62-52 on Jan. 17.

2016: Villanova won the South Regional before moving on to Houston.
