RE: Draft Comment Thread
I have it on good authority that Connaughton was the #1 overall draft pick in the Coastal, fyi. That's either great value for the Empire at #6 or a heck of a gamble for the Ballers. (EDIT: Not looking over there btw, me and J-Rye exchanged PMs just to see who went #1)

Hothot with back-to-back picks coming up. Then back to the Dozen.

Connaughton was a pretty bad one pick if true lol, really good player but a bit of a reach with the first pick. Are we gonna be able to see the other division's draft when it's over?

Yeah I'm gonna open up both Draft Forums to everyone so we can all see everything. Should be entertaining. Smile

And the Ballers are the current, two-time defending CEBE champions so J definitely knows what he's doing. But a lot of draft pundits are scratching their heads over this one. Mel Kiper just passed out. Could be a genius pick or the end of a dynasty...

To make a correction on the roster. FSU guard is Dayshawn Watkins, not Watson. Not that it's any big issue just throwing that one out there.

It wouldn't be a CEBE draft if J and I weren't trying to draft the same players. This season we actually can.

Pick is in. Can't believe a guy putting up a 10/6 with 2 defense in just 19 MPG last year would stick around as the starting (and likely ONLY) PF in UNC's rotation.

Excellent pick. I think Brice can easily put up around 14/9 , just has to stay out of foul trouble.

I never trust Duke or UNC...they always seem to be stacked with few players who put up big numbers. I like the pick too though and have to say I am going to have to look harder now.

Tyus Jones is the reason I couldn't take Quinn Cook with my 2nd round pick. Not sure if that's actually a good thing for Jones, though. Do you really bench the senior point guard and give Jones enough floor time to be fantasy productive?

RE: Draft Comment Thread
From what I have read, they have unofficially named Tyus Jones a starter. Even if he ends up coming off and the bench he should play at least 25 min a game. I have had to watch Cook for three years not live up to expectations so as a fan I am really hoping cook comes off the bench, but either way they both should play about 25-30 min a game.

Samesies here; will either of Duke's captains be starting come conference play? Hard to use a 1st or 2nd when the answer is maybe but the reward could be high.

Also is it bad form to mention undrafted players?

He wasn't lying--5.75 fouls per 40 min for Brice; yikes. Worst fouls per 40 number of any returning ACC player. That's some Deniz Kilicli & Gil Biruta fouling hustle.

I would say Cook starts the season as the sixth man, but unless they play Semi or Winslow at PF then jefferson will start all season

Lacey fits the best player on a bad team mold I like in these drafts, but I have no idea what to expect from NC State. Kinda reminds me of Temple last year when we changed from Big East to The American.

Took a risk but I think it's worth it. Jackson is great at getting buckets and does it efficiently. Just a matter if he gets enough minutes but I really think he starts.

Little bit of a reach IMO but Jackson should be a stud on offense, which will get him PT. No idea what his FT% or defensive contributions will look like but top ten recruits tend to work out well.

Was debating taking him now or trying to wait for next round(had 3 other possible choices) but I'm absolutely convinced he will be starting from day 1 which is why I went with him now. Jackson was around a 75% FT shooter in HS should work out later. I followed his HS career very closely, and he's the type of guy who on a quiet night could give 10-12 points without really being noticed.

Very pleased with my imposing wall of a frontcourt paired up with my CEBE POY candidate in Paige.

Really like EL's pick of Johnson too. I probably would have taken him even though I already had a Heel. High risk, high reward pair of picks for the Empire.

Wasn't my intention until I saw who was coming off the board. I was going to go for Tyus Jones until he was taken off the board because the upperclassmen I wanted were taken. Have two guards in mind now although one scares the hell out of me because I think the rest of his team is not very good.
