(S6)Race For 6th Place
Alright gents, this is currently Week 8 and the playoffs start Week 12, just 4 weeks away. Only 6 teams get a first round bye and avoid facing the top 2 seeds in the 2nd round. Looking at the remaining schedule with the race for 6th place in mind, a couple things stand out:

Team hothot will close the season by playing the Top 3 CEBE teams, the Wheats get two of the bottom 3 teams and Buzz gets 4 straight home games to close the regular season, including games vs. the Dragons (10) & Wheats (7).

Week 8-11 Schedule:
#5 Buzz: vs Dragons (10), vs. Fuglys (2), vs Shooters (4), vs. Wheats (7)
#6 hothot: at Fugs (2), vs. Doms (3), at Mdubb (9), vs. FreeBallers (1)
#7 Wheats: at Mdubb (9), vs. Dozen (8) , vs. Fugs (2), at Buzz (5)
#8 Dozen: vs. FreeBallers (1), at Wheats (7), vs. Dragons (10), at Fugs (2)
#9 Mdubb: vs Wheats (7), vs Dozen (8), vs. hothot (6), at Doms (3)

Seems highly unlikely Buzz, who has a really good roster right now aided by multiple key injuries, will finish lower than 6th. Also, if he submits a lineup each week, could very easily crack the top 4. Team hothot will need to finish the year with lots of blocks from their bigs and crisp, high-volume FT shooting from their guards to avoid getting swept and opening the door for the Wheats, Dozen and Mdubb, who all three should remain within striking range through Week 11.

May the odds temporarily be in your favor (until you face the FreeBallers).

RE: Race For 6th Place
The Ballers basically lost to Needabuzz the first week we had Russ Smith in the lineup, so .... I don't think I'm as confident in my team as the rest of you. I thought I had the best team in 2011, 12, and 13 and only have 1 title to show for it. And even last year, 1 free throw was the difference between a title and a first round flame out. This single elimination tourney (and the hellspawn FT% category) will be the death of me.

It's what I love about the CEBE scoring system

WEEK 9 UPDATE:

This week, our potential 3 and 5 seeds have swapped vis-à-vis Doms and Buzz. Using the simplest SOS formula--adding all opponents' current rankings (1-10) with a higher resulting number being the easier SOS, lower the tougher, here are the numbers:

Week 9-11 Strength of Schedule

Rk Team sSOS (OppWin%; OppW-L record)
#3 Buzz: 13.0 (.573; 71-53)
#4 Shooters: 22.3 (.377; 46-76)
#5 Doms: 16.2 (.532; 66-58)
#6 hothot: 15.1 (.577; 71-52)
#7 Wheats: 13.1 (.554; 67-54)
#8 Dozen: 19.2 (.456; 57-68)
#9 Mdubb: 15.1 (.512; 63-60)
#10 Dragons: 13.2 (.584; 73-52)

sSOS= simple (stupid) strength of schedule
Edit: added one tenth or "0.1" to sSOS to represent remaining away games
Edit: added opponent winning percentage & Won-Lost records

Did the math pretty quickly so beware of errors.

Eye test: as suggested last week above, #3 Buzz are trending towards a top 4 finish still despite a difficult remaining schedule and personnel management issues. The #4 Shooters also look like a near-lock to finish at least 6th or better so the real race is between the bottom 6 teams--Doms, hothot, Wheats, Dozen, Mdubb & Dragons--with 2 spots up for grabs to avoid the first round elimination games in the playoffs.

#6 Team hothot did not shoot their FTs crisply nor did their bigs alter enough shots to avoid getting swept by the Fuggin' Fugs last week, opening the door even wider for the bottom half of the league. With a Week 11 matchup against the FreeBallers looming, it doesn't look good for team hothot's hopes at remaining in the top 6.

So according to this I have the 3rd toughest schedule. Is that correct?

For the remainder of the season, yes

Kindly remove the Dominators from this bottom 6 talk. My team is 13.5% points ahead of 6th and 2.9% points from 3rd place. And yes I had a very mediocre few weeks in a row but I would have beaten the benchmark Ballers last week if I recall correctly.

You would have beaten my team 2 of the last 4 weeks. I mysteriously missed two games from Cummings last week, and I've already mysteriously missed a game from Boatright this week. It's why I'm giving my team no better than a 40% chance to win the title.

Yeah I think there is a clear cut top and bottom half of the league and things are really shaking themselves out. My team will probably continue to shit their paints and lose to hothot this week but I think I could see all of the top 5 taking the title.

Bottom 6 wasn't meant as a derogatory term rather literal. I'll admit I forgot to review your team scores the last few weeks, from the comments I've seen and the slide this last week, your squad seemed to be trending downward & an assumption was made for some reason, sorry if that was poor form.

This race for 6th place exercise takes SOS into account plus the fact we face each other this week, 5 vs 6 so potentially you're still at risk if the Doms continue mediocre play and team hothot stages a miracle week of stats with a healthy House back. That seemed more logical in my head when i first created the post this morning.
