(S5)Season 6 Rule Change Thread
I've already posted one proposal to the page, but I figure we should get one discussion going for any other proposed changes.

If you've got ideas, post them here. Might be worth reminding everyone that Big East hoops will be down 2 more teams next year (and 2 heavyweights, at that). Keep this in mind as you are thinking about low-depth positions in our CEBE transition year.

RE: Season 6 Rule Change Thread
proposed changes for subs:
- may sub 1 player at 1 position during regular season games
- may NOT sub in the same player at more than 1 position (we had this conversation before the Elite 8)
- may NOT start a player then rotate him to sub for another starter (also talked about this one)
- may sub any position for any position at the Utility spot

Something else just to get a discussion going. How bout we replace "Assists" with "Assists minus Turnovers"

Kinda like going to a "Steals + Blocks" category instead of just "Steals"

RE: Season 6 Rule Change Thread
I thought about incorporating turnovers in some way, but decided that might get pretty ugly in some cases. Would we even be able to draft guys like LaDontae Henton, Cleveland Melvin, and Kadeem Batts if a TO stat was added?

Would be fun to have a Hall of Shame for some team that took Batts, Henton, Russ Smith, and Cleveland Melvin as 2/3 of its starting lineup.

RE: Season 6 Rule Change Thread
Guys like Tom Maayan are who stand out to me. I think he's around top 15 in assists but in no way shape or form is he one of the top 15 playmakers in the league. He's a turnover waiting to happen. PGs dominate the assist category but a few of them actually do more harm than good in that area

I am against turnovers as well. All for subs during the reg season and definitely agree with the utility sub rule change proposed by J-Rye.

Also, how many teams will actually be playing next year in the Big East? I know Pitt and Cuse are gone, what do we have coming in? We may need to think about changing the amount of bench players.

As far as I know, there are no teams coming in next year. Or is this the season when we add powerhouses like Houston, Tulane, and ECU?

RE: Season 6 Rule Change Thread
If the latter is the case, next year's CEBE is going to be a nightmare. Drafting the star from Houston, who can and will obliterate other old C-USA teams, but get absolutely shut down by a real Big East squad? Fun times and lots of volatility. Good luck figuring out how their stats will compare from this year to next.

Good God, it is the C-USA crap.

http://www.bloggingthebracket.com/pages/...or-2013-14

Scroll about halfway down to see the 2013-2014 Big East lineup. UCF, Houston, Memphis, SMU, and Temple join. What a cluster that will be.

At least there will be a larger pool of players. Classic quantity over quality.

RE: Season 6 Rule Change Thread
I didn't mess with transfers the last couple years with nothing to compare them to but it's going to be essential next year.

All for subs during the season.

All for utility sub as proposed by DHC. Lol.

Against turnovers.

Since we are only allowed to sub one position per game, I think we should cut it down to 9 players which will give you one at each position. I think we have 10 now?

Synopsis (pending commish approval)

FAIL - Adding turnovers

PASS - Sub any position into the Utility slot (credit to DHC Wink)

PASS - (Regular Season Subs) 1 player at 1 position

NEED A VOTE - (Tourney Subs) Allow 1 player to sub in for 2 different players (I vote NO)

NEED A VOTE - Limit draft to 9 players per team (I vote NO)

I vote no on the single player serving as sub for multiple positions as well as limiting the draft to nine players. We're adding 3 new teams and all the players that go with it. By drafting 9, you're going to have decent players constantly on the waiver wire.

With 18 teams, that's technically 90 starters up for grabs. I'd just assume draft more than 10 players per team so the season doesn't depend on who gets lucky in the waiver wire. Next season especailly we might need to come up with a better way to do waivers. There's going to be a lot of unknown talent on the market and we shouldn't be able to pick guys up the second after they have a breakout game. Players should be off limits after they play - off limits until the wiaver wire opens the next week. This gives everyone a chance to ........

fuck it. I'm creating another thread lol

I still propose fantasy football rules for waivers. As I said last year, I'd be willing to even run the thing and process the claims.

I'm with you. I'm trying to write up the new rule now without making to too complicated
