Allen dreamed his whole life of playing at duke. Played aau ball in duct tape shoes just to get his shot, he ain't gonna give it up for a chance to play in the NBA but most likely the d league like tyus jones. That option will always be there. Imo he comes back to a LOADED duke team for a chance to win a 2nd title (assuming duke doesn't win it this year), becoming a legend at Duke not just a hero, and having his jersey hung in the rafters.

Now obviously I realize the draft situation and the lure of being a first round pick, but unlike you non Dukies I can see this kids heart and love for basketball and Duke that most people ignore. That's probably why I have a feeling he will be back next year.

And coach k goes...kid ur going to the NBA.. I paid too much money for these new recruits to kick one out

Cool

For anyone who watched UNC play tonight, the full limitations of Kennedy Meeks were on display. Awful defense, bad defensive rebounding, and getting blocked by one star big men. He is only going pro on the buffet line. Rumor is he ain't coming back to UNC though.

Okay, should he get a mod warning for being a douchebag or no?

The kid definitely can't legally buy alcohol.

Maybe everyone should just put him on ignore and then he can suck on Grayson Allen's asshole all by his lonesome.

FG, did he get dropped on his head as a baby or what?

Mod warning means nothing but is just a warning from mods that if your ignorance, flaming, or whatever continues you're going to get banned.

Speaking of players leaving early, the projected #3 pick, Jaylen Brown, just went for 4 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 7 turnovers, and 5 fouls in his 1 and only tournament game ... a loss ... to Hawaii. #3 pick LOL

If literally nothing else, these recent departures from NC State should get Gottfried Gott-fired.

Barber and Lacey leave early (Were TJ Warren or CJ Leslie on Gootfried's watch?)
Martin brothers, Rodney Purvis, Kyle Washington transfer

I was just thinking same thing. You look at the guys who have also left to go pro mostly go second round or undrafted. Seems like everyone hates playing for him.

COMPLETELY reading between the lines, but the statements released by Gottfried make it sound like Caleb had a future with NC State that Cody did not. If Cody was being encouraged to shuffle out, Caleb was going with him. In some ways, it sounds like the Morris twins and their gripes in the NBA (in short, crying if they can't be permanently attached at the hip).

At the bottom of the article, "N.C. State does return several options at the wing, including Maverick Rowan, Shaun Kirk, Terry Henderson and transfer Torin Dorn."

If by several options, you mean warm bodies ... then yeah, they have several options.

LOL, holy shit, Paul Hewitt's buyout at GT was $7.2 million(!) back in 2011. That's insane.

Just as insane, Josh Pastner's buyout at Memphis is $10.6M. Steve Alford's buyout at UCLA is also $10.6M.

Oh yea?

We can't forget that this guy's buyout is currently at $15.5 mil (and no penalty to him if he leaves early to boot). These coaches must be really good at bs-ing about themselves enough to scare their bosses into some crazy buyouts.

P.s. I know it's not hoops, but while we're talking about crazy buyouts...

I'm sure this isn't a surprise to any of us, but the ESPN transfer list confirms that Cornelius Hudson is leaving Wake Forest. He got kicked off the team a couple weeks before the end of the regular season. Rondale Watson (soph G) and Andre Washington (grad transfer) also getting out of Winston-Salem.

Can't say I blame a guy like Corn Hudson for transferring. He was usually productive when he got minutes, but those minutes were random as hell. Kinda like Bonzie Colson. He's top 5 in PER for the ACC but Brey would rather just have a spot up shooter at the 4 spot
