Forum name change. Whoever wins our matchup this year or if we play two times and split then we add the scores from both games and use that to decide the winner. I win, we work together to come up with an agreeable name. I lose, we stay thecebe.com and I never bring it up again and also I buy your wings and all the beer you can drink at a game viewing after the CEACC season is over.
A huge advantage of this is that I think it helps our appeal to bring in outsiders. Legitimately. Hell that's something they could search for and get to us. If you're searching for fantasy hoops, there is no way you're getting to us. As an additional incentive to get you to play ball with me, I'm going to post from my 'I hate UK' facebook and twitter accounts about our league and the signups tonight. I have a little under 200 followers (but growing!) on twitter but I have over 10,000 fans on facebook. Might get us a few new additions.
I know you aren't going to agree to this. lol.
Some top choices:
Someone took http://theceacc.com/! Fucking red! Took my idea! That sumbitch...
RE: Calling Harv out - HarveyGlass - 09-07-2014 09:56 AM
Hahaha I own theceacc!
I was planning on switching over to that board but nixed the idea. It's really not all that simple to switch domain names like that.
The way I needed to do it was buy theceacc domain, put another message board on it, then download and run a 'merge' program that would combine both boards. But info on what exactly would happen was sketchy and unreliable. Would all members and passwords move over? Would all posts move over? Which way would they merge? lol Would I lose data in the process? Would it even work with two different versions of the same forum software? Too many variables to risk losing everything we've got here.
It's why when other message boards do big changes like this there's always downtime and numerous bugs, glitches, lost posts, lost threads, etc. And I didn't think it would be worth it just to change a few letters on a domain name.
The other option is to just move over to the other board, but that's starting from scratch. Everybody has to re-sign up, every board has zero threads. Brand new. That didn't seem like a pleasant option either.
So I think we're stuck here until mybb comes out with a more reliable merge system.
But if you like that forum template I can make it an option over here.

We can't lose the Hockey talk thread.

Or the homophobic comments

That sucks that it has to be so difficult. It seems painless. Change the name and that's that. I think you should at least try the merger and see what exactly happens. No way to know without trying. Worst case scenario, we just stay here right?
Just posted about the forums and the league on my fan pages on twitter and Facebook. So hopefully we see a spike in views and maybe add a few new members for posting and for the league. I have more Facebook clout but hothot has more twitter clout than me so we should get him to plug the league.

I gave my plug on the Diener Show last year
RE: Calling Harv out - HarveyGlass - 09-08-2014 09:40 AM
I sent emails to those dudes you had join up last year. One of them came back as undelivered. Buckets, Thunder and Lightning, and Death Valley I believe. If they want in now's the time.

95% of my followers are either Louisville fans or 4+ year old spambots, unfortunately.

How many topless, flirty selfies with fish face and Miley tongue do you have to post to get FB clout?
RE: Calling Harv out - DieHardCards - 09-08-2014 10:28 PM
Apparently you just have to hate UK and make a fan page for it. Over 10k and counting.
RE: Calling Harv out - HarveyGlass - 09-09-2014 07:34 AM
Nothing wrong with UofL fans and/or UK haters. Bring em over!

Guess I didn't make the cut for HotHot's following purge. Dropped me like a bad habit, I'm disappointed...

Twitter? Hah sorry dude, all in the game yo.
No, but seriously, I use tweetdeck on a laptop which allows one to simultaneously view several lists along with the main timeline. So, "following" someone and putting someone on a list are kinda the same thing, just my preference to sort people by lists for different seasons/events. If you try to "follow" more than 600+ people in one timeline, it gets so crowded during game days it's impossible to read a tweet before it scrolls off the screen at times.
I probably added you to my louisville people list (and "unfollowed" you from the main timeline list, so to speak) during the World Cup when I "followed" a bunch of soccer people that were previously just in my soccer list. Make sense?
Edit: Also, if someone tweets naked pics or borderline nsfw images, I usually do have to drop them altogether for the same reason I can't look at CEBE w/ avatars on in public/work.

I follow at least 3 yoga pants twitters. My main reason for twitter.

HAHA its all good HotHot, was just kidding around. Doesn't hurt my feelings, as long as I still get in the CC tweetcap from time to time

I haven't been able to do tweetcap yet this season due to schedule issues but yeah, that's still going to be a thing as long as people still like it.

Seems like a timely bump considering our pending sunset of thecebe.com.
RE: (S7)Calling Harv out - DieHardCards - 01-20-2016 05:19 PM
Indeed. What should we go with?
